Declutter Your Home

Whether it’s kids toys that they’ve outgrown, your own bedroom closet that is bursting or a kitchen cabinet that stores items you rarely use, clutter can pose a real problem. Here’s a simple rule to apply when tackling the clutter in your home.

Figure out what items you will:

  1. Give away: Donate items to Goodwill or the Salvation Army.
  2. Put away: Place items in airtight storage containers that you can store in the garage or basement easily.
  3. Sell: Gather up items that you can either sell online or keep for a summer garage sale.
  4. Trash: Throw away anything that is ripped, torn or broken. They will be of no use to anyone.

With your items clearly designated into one of these areas, you will be sure to combat your clutter problem.

At first this system can be overwhelming, but the trick is to designate 30 to 45 minutes a day tackling one room at a time in your house. By the end of the week, you will notice the change and feel much better about it and your home will finally be free of clutter.
